It's not new anymore, but its news

I was surfing the photos in the computer the other day, and it occurred to me that many of you haven't seen the pictures of Jim's homecoming. So I thought I would share that and some other old news with you.

I wasn't there of course, but I have been told that there was a warm reception with Balloons and banners at the airport with Jim returned from his overseas tour. Victoria was a little skeptical of the entire event. When she saw her father, she didn't go running...Toward or away from him. I guess that's a good thing! She knew that she recognized this strange man in pretty painted uniforms, but couldn't quite place him. She gave him a guarded hug, and allowed him to hold her, but all the while not taking her eyes off Mommy.

It wasn't until they returned home that she really understood who this strange man was. She saw him going upstairs, wearing normal clothes, and it was like a lightbulb turned on... "Ooohh... It's Daddy..." From that point on, she was all over him. Even nose to nose with him staring him in the face when he was sleeping until he opened his eyes.

It has been just over 6 weeks since he has been home, and it seems like everything is back to normal. Victoria even calls for Daddy in the middle of the night - what a great sound for Mommy!

In other news, Victoria has past a milestone. She is 2. Like all typical 2's, she talks non stop, gets into trouble, and throws tantrums. Here are a couple photos of two of her three birthday parties. Still waiting for Jim to unload the photos of the third party, but this should get you going.

Monsters... Monsters... Everywhere

You know, being a cat can have it's advantages... Sleeping all day, chasing phantom bugs all night - but then, just when you're starting to enjoy your lifestyle of peace and quiet, the Monster turns up.

Yes I said monster. A big, purple monster. See for yourself...

The monster jumps around and growls, and tries to pick me up by my tail. You know, second to getting thrown into the bathtub, being picked up by your tail is the thing I hate the most...

This monster is also infatuated with the movie Monster's Inc. It is constantly chanting Onsters, Onsters, Onsters, until you put the DVD on. This must be one of this creature's favorite past times because the monster can recite all the words, actions and songs from the movie.

So this Monster, just appears out of nowhere, and disappears again just as fast but not before reeking havoc around this usually calm peaceful house. The last time I saw the monster, I got a closer look. There is something familiar about this monster. Maybe you can help me put my paw on it.

Aside from the DVD watching intruder, things have been pretty average around here. When Kaela is here, Victoria's enjoys playing musical instruments with her. If they had a few more hands they could have an entire band. They play the piano, the recorder, the water pipes, and the drums. Victoria likes playing the piano with Grandpa too.

This is all for now. I just heart Jim cleaning the little kitties box, and all this sleeping and eating... Well you can guess where I'll be.

Well Anonymous,

This is how rumors get started. I have sniffed around quite extensively...I mean everywhere. (I really should get paid for this stuff) I have found no signs of babies or pregnancy. And there will certainly be no kittens - They took care of that years ago. I'm still bitter.

But as for the starters of rumors, who aren't Cat enough to name themselves...We have ways of dealing with you.

In other news...Real news, Grandma (Edna) has a new toy. It's about time. Thank god Popo had the courage to get one first. Now Edna is the new grounds keeper of the plantation. She looks a little dangerous on that thing. Good think I stay inside, she might get my tail. It's great for Grandpa Vic though...More time for Willow watching.

Things are changing rapidly around our house (aside from the fact that it is being cleaned, and I can no longer enter two of my favorite sleeping rooms without being yelled at and shooed away). Victoria has started going to preschool. She loves it from what I hear. She's always putting new pictures on the refrigerator when she gets home from school. All she talks about when she gets home is how much she likes the play ground, and the sand box. She doesn't even mind when the other boys pour sand in her hair.

Wait...sand in her hair...why does that remind me of a story about Diane. Oh yeah, because Diane used to pour sand in Matthew's hair when she was only Victoria's age. Funny how fate works isn't it.

This is Victoria and Gareth - fast friends because they both cry when Mom or Dad drops them off. They take turns being held by Miss Amy (their teacher) until they stop crying. Like I said...She loves school!

Kaela has been busy too. She is in her second year running cross country with the school. She has been running well...When she isn't lost in the woods with her team before the meet. She does seem to like it though. She has signed up for indoor track as well. That will be better for everyone - no more whining about having to stand in the cold and the rain.

Another big change in town is the re-retirement of our Beloved pastor, reverend Bob Jewell. He finally decided to take a break and get some much needed rest, after dedicating his whole life thus far to students and the church. He will certainly be missed. It was a tearful service, but the pie was fantastic (so I hear).

Well, we've finally made it to the information superhighway. It's been a bumpy ride getting here, I just hope we can keep the pace.

I would have been here sooner, but I can't get my paws to hit the right keys on the keyboard. I want to be able to give you a cat's perspective on the strange goings on with Kaela and Victoria.

This weekend will be fun. Everyone will be in town for Grandma's Birthday party...Can't wait to curl up with Uncle Roger when he gets here.
